FAQs

What services do you offer?

1

I offer individual and group therapy for new dads, experienced dads, soon-to-be dads.

I've never seen a therapist before. Where do I even start?

2

Here. The free consultation is exactly that — a conversation, not an intake form. We talk about what's going on in your life, I answer any questions you have, and we see if working together makes sense. There's no commitment and no judgment. Most guys leave the call saying it was easier than they expected.

What makes you different?

3

I sometimes consider myself the “anti-therapist.” I am direct and combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.

You can reach me anytime via the contact page.. I aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

How can I contact you?

Do you assign homework or exercises between sessions?

5

Rarely. I generally believe that the therapeutic work happens in session. Sometimes. It depends on what you're working on and how you learn best. Some people find it helpful to reflect, journal, or try something specific before the next session. Others do most of their work in the room. We'll figure out what works for you.

Only as much as it's relevant to where you want to go. A lot of dads find that becoming a parent brings old things back up — memories, feelings, patterns they thought they'd moved past. Understanding that history can be genuinely freeing. But the goal isn't to live in the past — it's to understand it well enough that it stops running the show.

I had a difficult childhood. Is that what we'll be talking about the whole time?

6

Is what I say confidential?

7

Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us. There are a small number of legal exceptions — situations involving imminent risk of harm to yourself or others — which I'll walk through in our first session. Outside of those situations, your privacy is protected by law and by professional ethics.

CedarPath Counseling, PLLC is a private-pay practice. Sessions are $225. I can provide a monthly superbill for clients who want to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits — many insurance plans will reimburse a portion of the cost. I'm happy to help you understand what your plan may cover.

Do you take insurance?
